Blogging from my phone has been figured out thanks to my sweet friend Erin over at Bringing Up Burns. Not only did she inform me what app to use but she also let me know that today was Friday instead of Saturday (when I asked her how her Saturday was going). Having Travis home in the summer really throws me off!
We headed to town this morning for Cade’s well child appointment. Sweet piglet is healthy and large! He has doubled in weight and grown 4 inches since he was born two and a half months ago.
These two are already becoming good friends. Their favorite thing to do together is get up at the crack of dawn. 5 am anyone?!
Sweet Emma prefers to sleep in… my kind of girl!
I’ve decided that I want to try a few new projects this summer. I’ve started reading through, “The Joy of Cooking” cookbook. I came across the bread section and began reading about bread starters. Has anyone ever done this? It’s absolutely fascinating! You basically let your yeast grow for a couple days. “feeding” it several times of day. It’s pretty much like a science experiment that you can eat! I love sourdough bread and thought that would be the first one I would try. I’ll keep you updated on how it goes!
I have been working on putting our new house together. Part of the catch is I’ve been challenging myself to spend zero dollars on decorating by using what I already have. Two reasons for that… the first is because there is no extra money right now for extra decor stuff. And the second is… Even if there were extra money there isn’t anywhere around us TO shop 🙂 .
I needed a rug for the kids’ bathroom. I didn’t have a rug sitting around that went with the colors I was using. So I simply used a coordinating bath towel I had on hand, sewed together strips of extra fabric I had sitting around, attached the fabric to the top of the towel, and voila!
A new and free bath rug!
Time to get off of here. I need to figure out what’s for dinner. I’m thinking something Mexican. Perhaps grilled avocados with grilled chicken!? Have a great weekend!
