These pictures make me smile. The squinty morning eyes and happy faces. And the incorrect camera settings that make everything way brighter than it should be. I love these pictures because even though they’re posed pictures they very much capture the stage of life we’re in right now.
Travis quickly snapped our group photo before he left for work. And the other photos were quickly snapped while a screaming Cash was trapped in his stroller so he wouldn’t run into the street. He’s a quick one and has developed a mind of his own when it comes to being outside.
The morning pictures went something like…
Run inside, change out the letters, run back outside and call the next kid over. Take a few pictures as quickly as I could. And repeat.
About child number three I thought to myself “this is a lot of children” 🙂 ha!
We started on a Wednesday this year. And since we only do a four day school week, there were only two full days of school this week. I need to make a mental note to start this way every year. It’s amazing how “dusty” their little brains were after a summer of play and freedom. Slowly working our way back into a set schedule was a good fit instead of jumping into a full week.
This will be my biggest school year yet. Three different grades. One of the things I love about homeschooling is that sometimes it takes just a bit of time to figure out what schedule works best. What I had on paper is NOT what we are going to be doing. In theory everything looked like it would work, but once we all sat down I quickly realized a few things needed to be moved around. I love the flexibility that homeschooling brings.
Next week I’ll be sharing what curriculum we are using as well as our “rough” schedule. Hope your weekend is a lovely one!
