Happy, full, tired, thankful…. just a few of the words that describe our Thanksgiving this year.
A little photo recap of our day…
This year our family was in charge of desserts for the big meal. Emma and Colt were my helpers in the kitchen this year and we had the best time! Emma made a Pumpkin Pie, Colt made a Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie (the Pioneer Woman’s recipe.. SO good!) and I made a Pecan Pie.
+Colt hammering down oreos to make his chocolate crust… such a boy 🙂
+I love having her help me in the kitchen. I feel like I blinked and she went from being a itty bitty little girl to a HUGE help all around. She’s so wonderful!
+ Monkey Bread for Thanksgiving breakfast. Again, the Pioneer Woman’s recipe is DIVINE! Any recipe of hers is a favorite around here!
+ A few months ago Eloise discovered she could touch her tongue to her nose just like her Uncle Justin (my older brother). She’s a HOOT when she does it! Every now and then she’ll tap her tongue to her nose when she’s thinking. And of course just to be funny. She’s such a ham!
+ Cash’s pre-Thanksgiving meal nap 🙂
+ The boys and their turkey legs. In years past there has been tears because there’s not enough turkey legs to go around (4 turkey legs…7 cousins). My father-in-law told the kids this year they could either have a turkey leg OR a dollar bill. His plan worked 🙂 The girls all chose dollars and the boys opted for turkey legs!
+ Colt’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie!
+ In the later afternoon we ventured over to the horse barn that is near my in-law’s home. Fresh air, happy kids and some exercise…. the perfect way to end a great Thanksgiving! I hope your Thanksgiving was a great one!
