I always love the “about me” sections of blogs. In part because I’m nosey and in part because I love knowing what makes people tick.
So in a nutshell…
My name is Ashley and I am married to my college sweetheart and a stay-at-home/work-at-home/homeschooling mama to six little ones (9 and under).
I began blogging over nine years ago when my oldest was a baby. My family lived out of state and it seemed like the most practical way to keep them updated. At the time I was the only person I knew who blogged much less used any sort of social media. After casually blogging for a few years I made the conscious decision to blog as a business.
We had just moved to a small town and to a home in the woods that was so remote, we only had 1 hour of internet a day (yes..that truly was a thing). My husband was a high school football coach at the time and my goal was to help bring in extra income through blogging.
I spent several years out in the woods growing my social media presence and consistently blogging. Fast forward a few more years and we added two more children (for a grand total of 5) and we began the journey of homeschooling (you can read all about our homeschooling journey through the tab up top). In that time I also became a Consultant with Rodan and Fields and began building a business that has far exceeded any expectation that I had. It’s been and continues to be such an incredible blessing to our family and so many others.
In 2015 (through the middle of 2017) I took a bit of an unintentional break from blogging. My focus became the children, homeschooling and figuring out life. I think sometimes it’s good to put things down for a bit so that you can come back to them refreshed and inspired.
The past half a year I felt a gentle tugging at my heart to get back to blogging consistently. I love this space. I love the community it brings. I love to write. I love having a place to be creative and to share what the Lord is doing in my life.
So THANK YOU for taking the time to read this space. You will find posts on homeschooling, our favorite recipes, thoughts on motherhood and a whole lot of random.
My prayer is that you would leave refreshed and encouraged. If you have questions never hesitate to email!
