These are one of my favorite cookies.
Growing up, my best friend’s grandmother would make them.
She would keep them in her deep freeze and pull them out when we would come over.

To this day I like to store a few Chocolate Crinkle Cookies in the freezer!
This isn’t Ms. Eloise’s recipe.
But instead my recipe is a fourth generation recipe from my great grandmother.
I love that I come from a long line of amazing cooks!

-Chocolate Crinkle Cookies-
1/2 Cup Shortening
1 2/3 Cup Sugar
2 teaspoons Vanilla
6 Tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa
2 Tablespoons Butter
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt
2 Cups Flour
1/3 Cup Milk (I used a splash more)
Combine your shortening, sugar, vanilla, eggs, cocoa, butter, baking powder and salt.
Mix until blended together.
Add your flour and milk.
Chill your dough.
Roll the dough into small balls.
Then roll the balls in powdered sugar.
Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
Do NOT over bake!
