We are slowly venturing into that phase of life where my kids are starting to eat me out of house and home. I’ve been working on revamping what I have to offer in hopes of keeping them full longer. One of the ways that I wanted to make a change in their diets was through Homemade Whole Wheat Bread. There is nothing more delicious than a warm and hearty slice of bread with butter! Not to mention it will help keep those little bellies full longer.
I have been on the hunt for a great Homemade Whole Wheat Bread Recipe for several months. The problem that I kept running into was that the loaves were dense and heavy. I asked my mom if she had any great recipes and she shared this one from her friend (thank you Mrs. L!)! It is absolutely delicious! The bread was the perfect consistency and tastes incredible! My whole crew inhaled it for snacks and also with our evening dinner. Thumbs up all around!
A quick note before I get to the recipe:
+ I ground wheat berries for the flour. I purchased this Grain Mill for my Mixer that works great! You just attach it and go! However, down the road I would love to purchase this Grain Mill as well as this Mixer. I’m afraid over time the amount of bread I plan on baking will wear out the motor on my existing mixer.
I hope your family enjoys this bread as much as mine did! If you have a favorite Homemade Whole Wheat Bread Recipe that your family loves, I’d love to try it!
