How We Travel as a Big Family (and Stay Sane) at Hyatt House
Life with a big family means we are often on the go. Sometimes it’s longer stays while visiting family, sometimes it’s weekends away cheering on our kids at games and events and sometimes it’s just trying to keep up with everyone’s schedules in a new place.
No matter the reason, the routine is always the same—long days, early mornings, hungry kids, and a need for spaces that make life feel a little more manageable while we’re away from home. During our stay at Hyatt House Dallas/Frisco, I was reminded how much easier travel feels when the space is designed for real families living real life on the move.
A kitchen that keeps up with our pace
One of the first things we did when we arrived was unpack groceries and settle in. When you’re
traveling with a large family, being on the go usually means constantly figuring out the next meal or snack.
Having a well-equipped kitchen completely changed that pace for us.
Instead of grabbing food out for every meal, we were able to make a simple dinner, prep snacks, and keep everyone fueled without leaving the room every few hours.

Later, we grabbed a few treats from H Market for a simple movie night in, which has become one of our favorite ways to slow down after busy days.
The next morning started early, as it usually does. Breakfast was quick and easy, with plenty of options for everyone and an omelet bar that was a clear favorite in our crew.
Even small things like on-site guest laundry made a difference—especially when you’re dealing with sports uniforms, extra outfits, and the reality of packing light but living full.
Everything felt built to support families who are constantly moving between activities, schedules, and places.
