Best Ever Chewy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Best Ever Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

If you’re looking for the perfect chewy cookie- this is the one for you!  I shared this recipe on the blog several years ago, but it’s worth sharing again!  These cookies are THAT good!

I have been making these cookies weekly for years and they’re a family favorite! I love cookies that have a little texture and chew to them and these fit the bill!  The key to making them chewy is to take them out of the oven RIGHT before they’re done baking. Leave them on the baking sheet for a few minutes while the centers finish baking.  They’ll be the perfect thin and chewy cookie! Enjoy!


2 sticks butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 eggs
2 cups flour
2 cups oats
1/2 bag of chocolate chips

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Cream together your butter, brown sugar and sugar.
Add in your vanilla, salt and baking soda.
Add in your 2 cups of flour and mix well.
Add in 1 cup of oatmeal at a time until you have incorporated both.
Add in 1/2 a bag of chocolate chips.
Bake in the oven for around 10 minutes.
You’ll want to bake them until the edges begin to turn brown and the middle doesn’t look quite done.
When you have reached this point, take the cookies out of the oven and place the baking sheet aside.
The cookies will finish baking on the tray outside of the oven.
Scoop them off and place on a cooling rack.
These cookies are chewy and thin! The very best kind!
